ERIC walraven

ASSOCIATE

Eric has over twenty-eight years of experience litigating in state and federal trial and appellate courts. During that time, Eric has handled matters ranging from trademark infringement litigation on behalf of a financial institution to high stakes warranty litigation on behalf of a Fortune 300 tech company to arbitration proceedings on behalf of a financial services company to catastrophic injury claims. As diverse as Eric’s experience is, there is a common theme, a deep understanding of the law at issue in each particular matter.

In addition to trial court litigation, Eric obtained Board Certification in Civil Appellate Law in 2004 and maintains that certification through the present. Eric’s appellate experience includes handling over 130 appellate matters in numerous areas of the law, including intellectual property, contracts, DTPA, business torts, construction, product liability, personal and catastrophic injury, professional negligence, mass tort, and class actions. Eric has represented clients in numerous Texas courts of appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Eric has 37 reported appellate decisions that have been cited over 2,600 times by other courts. Eric is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the UNT Dallas College of Law, where he has taught courses on legal writing since 2018.

Eric completed his 40-hour mediation training course in compliance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures Act in 2015 and has mediated numerous civil matters since that time in Dallas and Tarrant Counties.

Eric’s peers voted him a Texas Rising Star and Super Lawyer, published in Super Lawyers Magazine. Eric is a member of the Appellate Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Appellate Section of the Dallas Bar Association.

Eric, and his wife Angela, are members of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. During their spare time, Eric and Angela enjoy spending time with their three children, two grandchildren, and renovating their home, which was originally owned by Angela’s grandparents.
